So far, cashew nut processing facilities in Cambodia have been very few that’s why majority of Cambodia RCNs have largely been exported to other countries, especially Viet Nam. In 2023 only around 5% (around 31,500 tons) of the 630,000 tons of RNCs were processed in Cambodia, but these figures are not proofed and doubtful from relevant stakeholders. According to experiences of local cashew processor in Cambodia, only 20-22% of cashew kernels are from dried RCNs after processing, so it meant that 1 ton of dried RNCs can produce around 200-220kg of kernels. If so, Cambodia have produced around 6,300 tons of cashew processed kernels annually.
